In each case as you use a special feature, its important to ask a very simple question - "Does this make my site better, or make it worse?" At their best, special features can help to direct the attention our your visitors to the key messages on your site. At their worst, they may slow downloads, distract from the key messages, and make the site more confusing. To help you decide how to use them, our descriptions include both the positive and negative aspects of each feature.

The use of drop-dow and slide-out menus, available with Javascript navigation, can make it much easier for visitors to find what they want on larger sites.
